Hammers could take action against stadium owners

|

London Stadium owners, E20 Stadium LLP could have breached West Ham’s concessionaire agreement which insists the pitch must be in a fit and proper condition for Premier League games.

The 2013 contract insists a pitch means the Desso reinforced grass playing surface and markings for the playing of Football that measures 105 metres by 68 metres (or such other dimensions as the Governing Body Requirements may reasonably require from time to time plus run-off areas:

The maintenance of the pitch is the responsibility of the stadium operations company London Stadium 185, owned by E20 Stadium LLP.

Former Swansea groundsman James Williams is the head groundsman of the London Stadium.

West Ham may seek remedy within their contract to insist LS185 improves the pitch surface before the next home game against Manchester United in September.

Yesterday David Moyes spoke about issues with the London Stadium pitch in West Ham draw with Crystal Palace: “The pitch is very poor, the pitch at the London Stadium is really, really poor. It’s not an excuse because we played very well on it on Monday night. Today in the dry, a bit of heat it is not good.”

“You could probably see the amount of times the ball bounced over people’s heads and it was very high off the ground. I think we never really got a good enough rhythm in our play.

“I’ve not enjoyed the quality of the pitch at all. It’s not good enough and below Premier League standard, that’s for sure.”

West Ham are obliged to keep the London Stadium pitch to Premier League standards and could face sanctions if they do not ccomply.

Doesn’t make any sense to me? What an arrangement.
What input over the pitch does the manager have, if any?
For Moyes to make the statement that he did, it clearly means that the quality of the pitch has some real issues.

Yes I noticed the goal areas are slightly orange/brown already.
