Hammers create all time record in Germany

|

West Ham created a new record for English football in Europe when beating Freiburg this evening (Wed).

They are now the holders of the longest unbeaten run in European football having not lost in 17 games.

That astonishing run has taken them ahead of Bill Nicholson’s Spurs in the 60s and 70s and Don Revie’s Leeds during the same decades.

The Hammers can be immensely proud of such a remarkable turnaround in their fortunes after making the semi final of the Europa Cup two seasons back and winning the Conference last season.

Tonight’s win in Germany saw them extend their lead at the top of Group A to three points following a 2-2 draw between Backa Topola and Olympiakos, our next opponents in November.

It means we have now taken six points from the two games with of course a better goal difference over the second and third place.

Our next game comes up on the 26th of October against Olympiacos.
