Hammers cruise to easy win

|

West Ham returned to winning ways on Sunday with a totally dominant win over Norwich at Carrow Road.

The Canaries are already relegated and the Hammers turned on the style against them to win 4-0 and take complete control of the race to finish seventh.

The Irons were 3-0 up by half-time and this was a game that eventually took on the picture of men against boys.

The Hammers took the lead through Said Benrahma after 11 minutes, as he took aim from the edge of the box, and his shot was deflected, to the point of squirming underneath goalkeeper Tim Krul.

Mikey Antonio then added a second just before the half-hour mark, as Krul rushed out of his goal to meet him on the edge of the six-yard box and completely missed the ball in comical fashion, allowing the striker to tap into an empty net.

And it was 3-0 with the last kick of the half, as Benrahma met a great Jarrod Bowen cross and leathered it into the roof of the net.

After half-time, Lukasz Fabianski was almost embarrassed, as he flapped at a corner and allowed Sam Byram to score, but it was ruled out after a VAR review for handball.

And the scoring was completed just after the hour mark when Jacob Sorensen handled the ball in the area, and Manuel Lanzini scored the resulting penalty.

The easiest game of football the Hammers have played this season.
