Hammers deny “defender on move” story

arthurWest Ham denied rumours that they are ready to sell Arthur Masuku back to Olympiacos.

Speculation arose this morning in the national media that the £6 million signing had proved a flop and that the Irons were ready to move him on with his former club having first refusal.

It seemed the unlikeliest of tales given the player has had a long injury lay off and that he is our back up to Aaron Cresswell with all reports from those that matter claiming he is a great prospect who can only get better.

And within a couple of hours of the story be breaking our sources claimed that the story had no substance and that the player was indeed well in the running for squad inclusion against Watford.

We were told: Not true! He’s Cresswell’ s back up, hes been injured and is only now nearly ready to return. We have no back up left back other than him. Silly!”
