The latest West Ham transfer rumours suggest that the club’s two midfield loan targets are Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
While this hasn’t been confirmed by any club sources speaking to Claret & Hugh, the speculation appears reasonable—particularly in the case of Chukwuemeka.
However, these two names being floated over the past few days raise the question: are West Ham targeting first-team players or simply squad fillers?
Make no mistake, the Hammers urgently need midfielders who can slot into the starting XI and hold their place. Far too many of West Ham’s summer signings required time to acclimatise to the Premier League, with only Max Kilman and Aaron Wan-Bissaka becoming regular starters immediately after their arrivals.
The club already has several players warming the bench and rarely featuring. Director of Football Tim Steidten has been tasked with compiling a list of recommendations, which will ultimately be decided upon by the Hammers board.
What West Ham need more than anything is a mobile midfielder who can step straight into the team and transform an area of the pitch where they are consistently overrun.
While I believe the latest players linked with the club are decent, I’m uncertain whether they would be picked ahead of Tomas Soucek or Edson Álvarez. If they wouldn’t start, there’s really no point in signing them at all.
What West Ham need more than players is a manager transfer get rid of Sloppytegui and Sullivan
Good comments, I’m like you all a devoted supporter from 1967 , we can see it’s a shambles but the toffs can’t . If I was this bad at any job I’ve had I would have been told to leave and would have accepted it.
Much better bringing Potts and Earthy back from there loan stints
It is pointless going for midfielders until we get a decent striker/ strikers
Spot on Paul
My seats will remain empty until Loopy has gone. I won’t put them on ticket exchange where they will get sold to away supporters
Thanks for that, Ted. I’ve taken my ball home.
Well said Paul Taylor, WHU are just a shambles now
I shall watch from start to finish today regardless of whatever happens and I too have had my optimism drained. We are into totally bizarre territory now where it has indeed been a year of circus management. Being a fan at the moment is like slowly losing your mind.
It’s just a effing shambles, we can’t even keep the decent, young players like Todibo who seems can’t get away quick enough! Honestly after 67 year’s I’ve had enough of the nonsense. Prolonging Moyes until the inevitable was bad enough but Lopetegui’s continued backing is laughable because it’s only going to get worse and suddenly when we’re in the bottom three they’ll have to reconsider no doubt. No plan, no long term plan just the same old shambles from a board of clowns, I totally despair as I’m sure the majority of supporter’s do. Good luck today, if we concede less than four it’s a great result, sorry but any optimism has been totally eroded by year’s of circus management!
Paul you are 100% correct. The shambles left by Moyes was a disgrace. No skill or business acumen needed to pedal porn . We need a total refurb from top to bottom . Keep it under 5 later on would be a result !!
What Paul has written sums it up really. How did we manage to spend so much money with so much hype and optimism and end up where we are today? Top to bottom mismanagement can be the only answer.
