Bruno Guimaraes’ exceptional goal in the second half propelled Newcastle to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Despite Forest’s efforts to equalise twice, with goals from Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi, Guimaraes sealed the win for Newcastle with a superb strike in the 66th minute.
The triumph elevates Newcastle to seventh place in the table, edging them closer to European qualification.
With Newcastle surpassing West Ham in the standings, they are now aiming to go even higher. Although they currently sit 11 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, Kieran Trippier expressed Newcastle’s optimistic outlook, emphasising their “never say never” attitude towards securing a spot in Europe’s top competition.
The Toon win puts even more pressure on todays game against Arsenal at the London Stadium which sees the return of Declan Rice.
