Hammers duo help Czechs to a point against Wales

West Ham duo Tomas Soucek and Alex Kral lined up alongside each other in the Czech midfield as the team battled out a 2-2 draw with Wales

The point left them eight behind Belgium in second place, with Wales – holding a game in hand – in third also on eight points.

Vladimir Coufal of course missed the game with a thigh injury and is being looked after at Rush Green by the West Ham medics.

Wales will have been happier with the point than the Czechs as it gives them a chance of overhauling them and grabbing second spot.

Aaron Ramsey’s composed finish in a frantic first  half gave Wales a lead which lasted less than two minutes as Jakub Pesek scored on the rebound.

The Czech Republic were gifted a second goal early in the second half as Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward failed to control a Ramsey back pass and allowed it to roll into the net.

Wales responded with Daniel James equalising with an assured finish and leading the Wales team to stage a hectic period of pressure.
