Hammers duo sign for Bolton Wanderers

|

LoanBolton Wanderers have confirmed the double signing of Reece Burke and Josh Cullen on loan from West Ham. The duo move to Macron Stadium on deals until January and are reunited with Phil Parkinson having both enjoyed temporary stints with Bradford City under the Whites manager.

Speaking to bwfc.co.uk after joining the club, 20-year-old Burke said; “It was an easy decision for me as I’ve worked with the gaffer before and I really enjoyed it.He’s a good coach and I worked well with him and the coaching staff. I think I enjoyed one of my best seasons with them before. Hopefully they bring out the best in me this season as well.”

Commenting on his own move to Macron Stadium, 21-year-old Cullen added; “It’s brilliant to be here and I’m raring to go. The gaffer is a big part in me coming here. I got good experience with him at Bradford and feel I improved as a player. I’m now coming to a Championship club and looking to make the next step. Hopefully we can kick on and go on to have a successful season.”

Delighted at capturing the highly-rated duo, Whites manager Parkinson said: “We’ve worked with Reece and Josh before and are very pleased to get them on board.

“We’d like to thank West Ham and Slaven Billic for sending the boys up to us at the start of the week because that’s important for our preparation for the first game of the season. They are good characters but more importantly good players. They’ll add a lot of quality to the squad and have a desire to show everybody that they can play at this level.”

Great news looking forward to see how they go this season.

Good luck lads. I like Bolton as a club and am sure they’ll look after them.

Well that’s Cullen gone. So looks like Wilshere will be coming.

Maybe WtW but not sure, Fernandes has looked very sharp in central midfield. May be wrong but Wilshere at £20m is not something I could imagine, maybe in January if the ooners want to raise £5m or better just wait for him to be on a free at the end of the season.

Good to see them back with Parkinson. He gave them a lot of playing time last time round so he must trust them.
Like he said they want too prove themselves at that level.Let them go do it & leave the youth development to the profs not the keyboard youth experts 😁
Sorry but it does my head in when fans who rarely watch players say they are ready for the first XI.Yet right like they have got a scooby. It reminds me of the same tossers who banged on about Elliot Lee.I still have nightmares about Rugby Irons & his Elliot Lee fixation 😁😂

I agree Radai best place they can go in championship. Parky knows them both and trusts them from Bradford. Tho u was going Cullen would get a shot. A 5 month loan and Parky is a good manager and a big fan of Cullen and Burke.
Ox has already been of to good start. Hope they have success and if need in January can recall.
I think Wislhere would be a mistake @ £20m or even £7m missed more games than AC and wasn’t prolific at Bournemouth.
Quina will stay and rather he get a shot and Lanzini can cover.
Think bring in anyone we are linked with should be Ryad Boudebouz he gives us versatility and that creativity we need and him an Manu could play together also cover for Antonio. At under £14m is nothing in this Mkt.
Rice will stay and Imagine Toni too if don’t bring in another striker. Holland I think was amazing but LW is covered he would be better for him to be on loan… Maybe w Ox at Gladbach!
