West Ham eased to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Norwich City on Saturday!
The Hammers went into the game wary of the threat posed by Teemu Pukki, the joint-top scorer in the Premier League with five goals.
But the 29-year-old was kept quiet by Manuel Pellegrini’s men, as they kept their first clean sheet of the season.
Goals from Sebastian Haller and Andriy Yarmolenko ensured that the hosts took all three points and their third successive victory in all competitions.
Indeed, this was a dominant showing from the Irons, as they had 18 shots on goal to Norwich’s seven, as well as eight corners.
Haller, of course, netted a brace against Watford last weekend and hit his first home goal against the Canaries this time out. A brilliant run from Arthur Masuaku led to a cross from the left and the Frenchman tapped home from close-range.
Yarmolenko got back on the scoresheet following his injury hell, too, volleying home an excellent effort after Daniel Farke’s men failed to clear a corner.
This was a promising showing from the Irons, as they never really looked in a great deal of trouble against a team that have scored against both Liverpool and Chelsea this season.
Keeping Pukki quiet was always going to be vital and the Hammers did just that.
