Hammer’s exit stalled

Cresswell exit stalled

Have you noticed that since we trousered the Declan Rice money, clubs seem to be more difficult  in doing business with us?

The latest example concerns the supposedly exit bound Aaron Cresswell.

It now appears that Wolves cannot agree a transfer fee for the 33 year old defender.

The men from Molineux have been talking to Cresswell and his representatives for the last month or so but talks have now stalled.

The sum being talked about is supposedly £2.5m – hardly a massive amount these days but a deadlock, nevertheless.

Now is the time for Cresswell to leave as he does not appear to be in our Supremo’s plans and also due to his age, we know that we are not likely to get a massive fee from him and the longer this goes on, his resale value will diminish even further.

That is presumably Wolves plan, to enter in to a protracted negotiation game.

We are not exactly blessed with left backs at the moment , we do have Emerson and perhaps move the inconsistent Johnson there if we do not sign a new one.

I actually like Johnson. He’s versatile and seems to give his all. And is ambidextrous ( I looked it up and it can also mean feet). Also we’ve got Kehrer who has improved, enormously, as did Paqueta. Maybe Johnson need some rigorous training. As DM was a FB he should set aside time for him.

Great servant. I don’t mind if Cresswell stays or goes but I would like to see the young lad Oliver Scarles stepping up and making a breakthrough into the first team if he’s good enough and hope the decision to keep Cresswell doesn’t hinder the young lads progress.
