Hammers eye central defender

|

Mykola Matvienko

West Ham are this morning (Wed) claimed to be looking at doing a January deal for Shakhtar Donetsk defender Mykola Matviyenko

TEAMtalk per West Ham Zone have claimed the left sided central defender may well be the next defender for David Moyes and Tim Streidten on board at the London Stadium,

However, we will not be alone in chasing the player who is also said to interest  Sheffield United, Everton, Burnley and Crystal Palace.

It is also believed that both Brighton and Brentford attempted to sign the player last January but that collapsed on both fronts.

The player has a contract until 2027 and won’t come cheap as a result with a figure of £20 million being cited by Mykola Matvienko – Player profile 23/24 | Transfermarkt.

Should Moyes decide to move in on him the 27 year would  appear to be a replacement for Angelo Ogbonna who at 35 can’t expect to receive a new deal next term.
