This is odd, very odd… as it seems that West Ham have reignited their interest in former academy graduate Grady Diangana, according to Africa Foot. The report claims the Hammers have tabled a £9.7 million bid for the West Bromwich Albion winger.
This is the second occasion the same website has re-hashed this old story so it’s to be taken with a pinch of salt. West Ham certainly won’t be bidding for the player in the event of signing Jota Silva.
Diangana, a DR Congo international, rose through the ranks at West Ham before departing in not the happiest of circumstances, in search of regular first-team opportunities. Now a key player for the Baggies, his inconsistent performances haven’t helped them secure promotion back to the Premier League. However, his talent hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Lazio, Roma, Wolves, Brighton, and Leicester City all reportedly expressing interest.
However, while praised by teammates, Diangana’s performances at West Brom haven’t always been particularly good and West Ham will need to be confident he can replicate his academy potential.
I suppose at the very least as a former academy player, Diangana would contribute to fulfilling the Premier League‘s homegrown player quota, a crucial factor for squad composition.
As I said, a bit of an odd one this. The Irons will need to convince him that a return to his former stomping ground is the best move for his career, but surely we can do better?
Tomas Repka anyone? Loved his passion and fire though
gotta break him out of jail of we want him 😆
Get your boots on Rio
Also on the verge of re-signing John Moncur👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
No doubt we’ll bring back Ravel Morrison back too.
His agent must be working overtime, every time I watched a West Brom game he was on the bench.
