Hammers eyeing Man City man

West Ham are eyeing a move for Yangel Herrera, the midfielder who is owned by Manchester City and is on loan with Spanish club Granada, according to Goal.

Herrera moved to City in 2017 from Atletico Venezuela but he has yet to make a single appearance for Pep Guardiola’s side.

He was immediately loaned out to City’s sister club, New York City, for two years, and has since gone on loan to both Huesca and Granada in Spain.

Goal reports that the Irons are keeping tabs on him, as are City, with a decision looming over his future this summer.

The 22-year-old is a relatively experienced head for his age, winning 23 caps for Venezuela, and he has also made over 70 appearances in La Liga.

Herrera is a versatile presence too, as he can play in defensive midfield, attacking midfield, or central midfield.

Transfermarkt value him at £13.5m and he will be in action for Granada against Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday night.

One comment on “Hammers eyeing Man City man

  1. Yangel Herrera is really highly rated by Spanish La Liga expert Terry Gibson. Would be a great addition at only 22. Would be great alongside Declan, allowing Soucek to get even further forward. This is exactly the young talented players we should be going for.
Other players we should be going after. Can you imagine a forward line of, Youssef
En-Nesyri (23) of Sevilla and Adam Hlozek (18) of Sparta Prague. Champions League here we come.
