Hammers eyeing striker option

By Hughie Southon

West Ham are retaining an interest in Blackburn Rovers front man Ben Brereton Diaz.

We have been linked with the 23 year old for several months – albeit at some times tentatively – but CandH understands that he remains on the manager David Moyes’ list of targets.

It has been made clear to us on several occasions that there are lots of names on the list of players interesting the manager and whilst Chelsea’s Armando Broja appears to be at the head of the list, Diaz is certainly another on the cards.

We have been told by a good source close to  the player that interest has been shown by the Hammers and that the price will probably be in the region of £25 million.

However, the manager and board will need to move quickly if reports in The Mirror are correct that Leeds United are also keen on the Chilean who scored 25 goals in 47 games last season

  1. Definitely see this one happening and would help that Warburton is his former manager maybe?

  2. One big problem here…….. . There are only 57 days remaining of this transfer window which is clearly nowhere near enough time for Dithering Dave to make up his mind 🤔

  3. We should get this one over the line asap. Hope you’re right about the Warburton link Clive.

    • Yes Warburton was manager of Nottingham Forest when Ben Brereton broke through as a young 18 year old. Back then I think he was known as Ben Brereton not Brereton-Diaz. Seems to have added Diaz since then.
