Hammers eyeing World Cup ace

West Ham have been linked with a January swoop to sign Boulaye Dia from Salernitana.

The Hammers don’t have a load of money to throw around in the January window, but they have been linked with a deal to sign the striker.

Dia is currently on loan at the Italian club from Villarreal and the Serie A side hold the right to buy him permanently should they wish to.

He has been called up to Senegal’s World Cup squad and scored against Qatar last Friday.

Now, it is said that there is interest from the Irons, as well as Leeds, Everton, and Leicester.

Salernitana need to pay €12m to sign Dia from Villarreal but they are said to be willing to do just that, and then potentially sell him on for a profit.

Tutto Salernitana reports that the Premier League clubs are all keeping tabs on him but there is no suggestion of which club is leading the race, or how much he would cost.
