Hammers face Gallagher frustration

|

West Ham are today being reported as fearing they could miss out on Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as the player is reported by the Mail as wanting to stay and fight for his place under Mauricio Pochettino .

However, be that as it may, we already know the Blues have a price on the midfielder at £45 million following the Irons bidding £38 million and planning to return with a higher offer

Tottenham and Newcastle have also been linked with the player but there is a growing belief that the player  does not want to leave, largely due to – according to the Mail – his desire to impress Pochettino.

The Chelsea manager has revealed that Gallagher is a part of his plans but it remains to be seen what will happen when the Irons go in with an improved offer.

The academy graduate has two years left on his current contract with Chelsea and scored in both of their friendly wins over Wrexham and Brighton in the US in the last week.

Conor Gallagher is determined to fight for his place at Chelsea amid interest from West Ham

However it remains a worry for the Irons following issues following their attempts at landing Ajax’s Edson Alvarez, Juventus’ Denis Zakaria and Fulham’s Joao Palhinha.

Meanhile, however, talks are now ongoing to sign James Ward-Prowse, who is valued at £40m by Southampton. Negotiations with the Saints are said to have been positive
