Hammers facing right-back competition – report

|

West Ham are facing competition in the race to sign Celtic right-back Josip Juranovic, according to a new report.

The back page of The Sunday Post, via Hammers News, claims that Newcastle are now eyeing a potential swoop to sign the player from the Scottish giants in the January transfer window.

Juranovic has previously been linked with a potential move to the London Stadium amid his excellent displays for Croatia at the World Cup.

Croatia beat Brazil on penalties and have reached the semi-finals of the competition, where they will play Argentina.

Juranovic has played in every single game at the tournament, laying on an assist in the 4-1 win over Canada, and has plenty of interest.

With Newcastle also said to be in the frame, The Scottish Sun previously reported there was interest from La Liga duo Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad.

A move for Juranovic makes a lot of sense, given that Vlad Coufal could potentially be on his way out of the club in the January transfer window.

He is reported to have an asking price of around £10m.
