Claret and Hugh can today reveal the secret location of the Olympic Stadium family stand. Despite the club confirming there would be a family stand at the Olympic Stadium in their official Q&A, up to now they have ignored requests to confirm where it would actually be located.
Back in April the club published on the WHUFC.com Q&A section:
Yes. The Club’s Reservation Centre advisor will be able to provide information about the family seating options available to each Season Ticket Holder at their appointment.”
The advisor explained that sections 247, 248, 249, 250, 251 and 252 are designated the ‘virtual family stand’ but there is nothing to stop non families purchasing seats in the same area. Many of these sections were originally thought to be band 5 because they are so far away from the pitch.
The advisor told Claret and Hugh Associate Editor Sean Whetstone today:
“In Upton Park we had the Trevor Brooking Upper but in the Olympic Stadium what we have done because the concourse is more open is a kind of virtual family area which is sections 247 to 252. In the family stand at Upton Park it is a set concourse. In the new family area you don’t have to be under 16 to go into there, it’s not strict like it is at Upton Park. Say someone comes in with a two year old, three year old and a four year old we would say 247-252 is a suitable area, the reason we have chosen that area is because it is furthest away from the away fans.”
