West Ham fan Karl, from Worcester, West Midlands, had been driving down the A38 dual carriageway in Droitwich last Saturday morning, when another driver signalled to him to pull over.
Karl told the Mirror: “We had overtaken each other a few times down the road, but it wasn’t as if it was stupid behaviour, it was just normal overtaking, but then he signalled to me to pull over.
“I pulled in behind him in the layby, and then he jumped out of the car and opened the driver’s door first, but because I had my daughter in the car I got out to talk to him.”
“He was being so threatening towards me; it looked like he was going to hit me, so I pushed him away in self-defence.
“That didn’t stop him though, and he just kept throwing abuse at me, and then out of the blue he just kept throwing loads of punches at me.
“I returned to my driver’s door, which is when he came and attacked me from behind, which I thought was pretty cowardly.
“He then turned to my little girl and said: ‘Sorry about that darling.'”
“She is absolutely terrified by the ordeal.”
“She is even frightened to come to my house again, which left me really upset.
“I didn’t care about anything else but her, so when he had the audacity to speak to her after the assault, I was astounded and just completely shocked he would do that.
“I think he just a coward and a low life for doing that with a child in the car.
“She is five, she can remember everything, he should have known better.”
The incident happened between 8.40am and 9.10am when Karl was dropping off Lily-Mae to her mother’s house.
Five year old, Lily-Mae was left in hysterics as the thug then smashed her father’s car window, and she has now told her mum she doesn’t want to visit her dad’s house again.
A West Mercia police spokesman said: “There are currently no arrests and the offender is described as a white man believed to be around 30 to 35 years old, 5ft 10in in height of a large build with short brown hair.”
