Hammers fan in “get back to work” outburst

|

With the vast majority of ClaretandHugh forum members calling for the Premier League to halt their efforts to restart the season, it was interesting to receive a comment from a guy simply calling himself Jeff earlier today.

Jeff claims to be a nurse in New York City and has an entirely different view to the majority. Unsurprisingly came in for some pretty fierce criticism for his views but in the interests of balance we publish them without most definitely don’t share them.

Here’s what Jeff has to say however.

As a nurse in NYC, a West Ham supporter for 50 years and on the front lines let me tell you and all your readers this whole coronavirus thing is overblown.. People die!!

People die of lots of things, when thousands were dying of the flu, of malaria, in car crashes, of cancer of EVERYTHING.

WHERES the news every night, the headlines the panic, the hysteria? 97% of people get sick with COVID and recover!!!

This is 100% BS!! Everyone should grow some balls and get back to work etc!!! I’m dealing with COVID patients in the epicenter every day for 6 weeks and I’m fine!!! It’s pathetic.

    Typical Tump nutter I’d say!
The US has had 80,787 deaths and 256,336 have recovered. That is a death rate of 24% a or 1 in 4 so that a bit more than the 3 in 100 he spuiks isn’t it.You wonder why they have faired so badly with complete dismissal of actual facts which is the hallmark of their President and many people.

Is Jeffs real name David Icke by any chance?

spot on. the damage done by the lock down will far outweigh the damage done by the virus. it’s time to man up and get on with life.

It’s all well and good talking up your extremely high chances of surviving Covid, which is true.

But when your 70+ mum, dad, aunt, uncle or grand parents catch it and die a slow death in intensive care, how will you feel then?

For the elderly and those with underlying health conditions, Covid is no seasonal flu for which they have a flu jab every year to reduce their risks.

As for a nurse giving me advice on how to manage a pandemic, will they need to get back in their box and stick to wiping arses, inserting tubes and putting pills in cups.

I think “claims to be” is the most important part of this story.
