The next step in the Hammers development is forever under discussion among the fans – commonly known as the “next level.”
Many believe that this represents either the top four or top six whilst others believe that’s too ambitious at this stage and that regular relegation free seasons and becoming placed as a comfortable Premier League outfit is what we should be looking at.
There is little doubt that the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini sent hopes soaring that the top six would be immeditely achievable but since that has certainly not been the case.
Now the subject has become the latest Claret and Hugh poll, the result of which demonstrates that Hammers fans are not as demanding as many may have thought.
With over 1200 voting the majority believe that relegation free seasons year in year out is the next level with 682 (56.04 pc) casting their vote in that direction.
A total of 519 (42.65 pc) expect top six finishes and a mere 1.3 pc (16) believe the next stage is top four.
