Events this weekend certainly put football in perspective. The relief we all felt as news trickled through regarding Michail Antonio’s survival from that dreadful crash was tempered by the concerns about his injuries, his family, his future – although most of us had never met him, the ten year journey we have shared as supporters of West Ham makes the Hammers’ leading goalscorer feel almost like ‘extended family’.
In support of Michail, and as a way of showing this affection that we feel as Hammers supporters, a minute of applause is planned for the 9th minute tonight in the Wolves fixture. Claret and Hugh’s associate editor Sean Whetstone tweeted X’d:
‘Hopefully there will be one minute of spontaneous applause from supporters in support of Michail Antonio and his friends & family on the 9th minute mark on Monday night for West Ham’s game against Wolves.

We’re all for that. ‘United’ again and showing the love for a true Hammers hero. The game will be shown live on Sky Sports who we believe have their own section in the pre-match show planned in support of West Ham’s number nine.
INEOS are rightly getting dog abuse for the various mistakes made at Man Utd.
One of their biggest errors was keeping faith with a clueless coach (Ten Hag) and not getting rid of him based on one game (FA Cup Final) that prolonged the chaos until they got rid and hired Amorin.
One more game for JLo just echoes the above.
Paying a release clause for the best coach available which I believe is Hoeness is a no brainer.
Man Utd are scrapping their previous approach to recruitment of trusting managers with recruitment of players.
They’ve wasted millions on vanity signings and letting managers buy players they wanted and have a disjointed squad due to this method.
Data driven recruitment of coaches & players is working well for Brighton and Brentford.
It’s time to trust Tim and fulfill our aspirations and reach our full potential ⚒️
Putting up the ticket prices also echoes Brady’s decision to get rid of concessions and fleece fans for as much as possible.
Best decision they made was appointing a true football individual to their board when they got Omar Berrada in from Man City.
Berrada was instrumental in hiring Amorin and getting rid of Dan Ashworth and will operate going forward with data driven recruitment.
It’s time for Sullivan to step aside and let our DoF make us a serious club and hire a coach. Such a shame Tim didn’t get the power to hire either Amorin or Hurzeler.
Missed opportunities with both those coaches unfortunately.
Hoeness is still worth sounding out. Took them from relegation certainties to the Champions League. Is on course to secure European football for Stuttgart again due to consistency in the Bundesliga.
Hoeness will never win the title in Germany so has already achieved everything possible in his homeland.
Surely the lure of the Premiership and making us qualify for Europe again would appeal as does living in London.
We could insert a release clause of our own if he joined and then give us protection if he succeeds or money to reinvest and pay for another progressive coach 💡
If only Andy 😔
That would require our board to have vision, a strategy and Sullivan to let go of his ego and trust Steidten.
Kretinaky buying Sully out is the only way this could happen as he trusted Tim.
I think it’s a given the fans will unite for Antonio but also against Sullivan.
