West Ham are believed to be interested in AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw.

It’s not the first time the Hammers have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old centre-back, who is reportedly becoming frustrated with life at the San Siro as The Rossoneri decide on Sergio Conceicao’s replacement for next season.

However, before fans get too excited about the possibility of signing such a talented player, it’s important to note that West Ham face serious competition for his signature.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also reportedly tracking Thiaw, with both clubs expected to prioritise defensive reinforcements this summer.

Last summer, Newcastle failed with a £60m bid for Crystal Palace and England centre-back Marc Guéhi. With Eddie Howe’s Toon side having already won the League Cup and looking strong contenders for next season’s Champions League, it’s hard to see West Ham winning any transfer battle involving top-four hopefuls.

At present, the futures of current centre-backs Konstantinos Mavropanos, Jean-Clair Todibo, and returning Nayef Aguerd remain uncertain. Until there is clarity on departures, West Ham are unlikely to make any serious offers for defenders.

As things stand, striker and midfield remain the key priorities for the summer transfer window, with other positions to be addressed once player exits are confirmed.

Aguerd and Mavropanos have both struggled with the 100 percent combative nature of the Premier League . Brighton always want top price for their players and so no bargain price for 30 year old diminishing player Webster . Westham are now a bargain basement club after years of careless spending on broken donkeys . Westham have nothing to offer any true class players and so the European finish clubs get first dibs .

So here we go again. After an embarrassing year of poor choices of manager and players, we enter the annual rotation of frenzied BS about new players coming in to transform the club to a level that can match the quality of support that it gets. The whole thing is a contrived pack of lies.

Someone start making a list of players on their way to the club, #1 David, #2 Thiaw, #3 Palhino etc etc
