Hammers financial bonuses growing and growing

By Hughie Southon

West Ham are on their way to bigger and bigger financial windfalls as a result of the Europa Cup heroics.

The victory over Seville in the round of 16 will earn the club another £1.8 million on top of the £8 million plus they have picked up so far.

That has come from the £3.7 million plus earned for qualifying, plus £2 million for their results at that stage of the competition and £1.1 million from becoming group winners and another £1.2 million for their participation in the last 16.

Should they reach the semi final stage with a result over Lyon in the quarter finals that will earn them a further £2.8 million as they enter the semi finals.

And a final victory will give them $8.6 million with participation – even if they finish up as runners-up – giving the club a further £4.6 million.

It won’t all go into the board’s coffers however, with first team squad members having had Euro clauses written into their deals.
