West Ham United are finally off the mark in the transfer window, with Brazilian youngster Luis Guilherme reportedly on the verge of becoming their first summer signing. His medical is to take place during the next couple of days following his arrival at London Heathrow this morning.

Details about Guilherme are limited. At 18, with his entire career spent at Palmeiras, he possesses raw talent and potential. However, the lack of established experience raises concerns. Can he adapt to the rigors of the Premier League? It’s certainly unlikely that the Brazilian wideman will start given the quality of Jarrod Bowen & Mohammed Kudus.

While the rumoured transfer fee is yet to be confirmed, reports suggest it will be significant for such an unproven player. This hefty investment adds pressure to Guilherme’s young shoulders.

Despite the risk, this signing signals West Ham’s intent to invest in young talent. If developed correctly, Guilherme could become a valuable asset in the future.

While Guilherme is a promising prospect, West Ham needs more established players to address our current shortcomings. Hopefully, this is the first step in a series of signings by Director of Football Tim Steidten. It’s certainly good to see the club both moving early in the transfer window and identifying young talent.

So he’s not our first signing as he hasn’t actually signed a contract.

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

How are we ‘off the mark’ if he hasn’t even had a medical yet?? And the transfer window isn’t open yet?!?

We’re ’off the mark’ when the club announces the signing. Until then it’s just more regurgitated speculation. Come on – you’re better than this!

I bet the poor sod got off the plane today and thought, ‘this is supposed to be their summer, god knows what it will be like in January!’

At last we are not leaving the transfers to the last minute so let’s carry on with this refreshing policy

Negativity Negativity Negativity that’s all you seem to write just lately Simon, keep taking the pills and hopefully your outlook will improve soon. In Tim we trust, all new or overseas players are unproven in the Premier League and not all of them will make it but if you don’t try you never will know. COYI ⚒️

I can’t see that West Ham are in a position to spend £25 million on a player for him not to go straight into the first eleven (at least to begin with!).
