Hammers get a warning from Pochettino

Spurs boss Mauricio  Pochettino has warned there must be no repeats of the League Cup defeat his team suffered at the hands of West Ham tonight.

He is still smarting from that 3-2 turnaround and said: “We took that cup very seriously and we had the idea to win and go through to the next stage.

“I think all the players in our starting XI were all ones who played in the Premier League and the Champions League.

“But it is not revenge, now it is the Premier League and we need to win because we have to fight for the top four.

“It is so important to get three points. We will approach it in the same attitude and purpose.

“I would sign now to be two goals up at half time and then we need to be more clever. Last time we wanted to win – it was not bottom of our priorities at all.

“We played so well in the first half and then the second half we played so badly and conceded three goals. That was the truth.”

We will make some changes to give some fresh legs. Now is the opportunity to play with the squad.”

Harry Kane is likely to start after suffering from a very heavy cold and being on antibiotics.
