Hammers get Fabinho boost

Liverpool will be without Fabinho for their visit to the London Stadium this afternoon as he has failed to recover from a muscle injury.

That kept the defender out of the 1-3 win over Spurs on Thursday evening and is a boost for the Hammers as they bid to grab their seventh win on the bounce.

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed his absence with the declaration: “Fabinho – no chance for this  weekend.”

It remains unclear whether the champions will also be without Joel Matip who has received a scan on his ankle that forced him off at half time.

He is a particularly important member of the team at central defence given Virgil van Dijk’s absence and the Liverpool boss commented that there were “glimpses of hope” that the injury wasn’t serious.

Joe Gomez, however, is unavailable for the game.

Meanwhile, the Hammers have no injury worries with David Moyes likely to name the team that started at Palace.

  1. It’s a bounus but still a tough game , we need to be on it , work hard and play for each other as we have done . I would be over the moon if we can do this , that would be a hell of a result , why not. COYI
