Hammers get home draw for third round

West Ham will be at home for the Third Round of the FA Cup having been pulled out of hat first to play Birmingham City.

That’s a hugely ironic draw for the owners who were previously in charge of the Bluenoses.

That we have been drawn to play at the London Stadium is a huge bonus after a run of away games in Cup competitions over recent years.

And although nothing can ever be taken for granted on these occasions the Hammers must be favourites for a game which will have brought a smile to the face of David Sullivan and David Gold.

Among the other games Manchester City were drawn to play Rotherham and in true FA Cup fashion the minnow of minnows or Blackpool will be at home to Arsenal.

Manuel Pellegrini and the lads will be perfectly satisfied with a match against the second city outfit who sit ninth in the Championship on 30 points.
