Hammers give Oxford update

|

Reece-OxfordWest Ham were today insisting they have received no offers for Reece Oxford.

The Mail ran a story on line declaring that the Irons are bracing thmselves for a £10 million plus bid from Manchester United.

But our top source at the club told us a few minutes ago: “There has been no bid and we are not expecting one. Mind you there is quite possibly a lot of agent activity going on as one might expect.”

The Mail story had claimed the Hammers were bracing themselves for a bid  for the defender and added it could arrive sooner rather than later, even as early as this week.

But co-owner David Gold has denied any interest in selling the defender and our source said: “There has been nothing from anywhere and he remains our player on contract.

And our source said: “As for bracing ourselves for a bid – there has been nothing from anywhere so that wouldn’t be true.”

If he goes so be it.It ain’t worth worrying about. The papers are having a field day with this story.
Away from that I loved the geezer who tweeted about Millw*nk fans kicking off while losing at Wembley yesterday .He said ‘Its a sad day for Millwall fans so they are holding a minutes violence’.Quality tweet.

lol the one I saw was “Millwall are at least fighting the oppositions fans and not themselves, that has to be seen as progress”

I don’t understand why some fans are getting in such a state about this Oxford story. They claim to never believe anything from papers, sources or ITKs so why believe this one story is suddenly factual in the papers & start combusting over it lol

Here comes silly season again. I see some are saying we have received a 15mil. Bid from MU already.
Why everyone falls into these stupid rumour headline traps when they know they are only being made up to grab attention, beats me

That’s about the reality of it.Still the Euros start soon, the media will be busy with that & this story will sink without trace in all probability.

Has the football world gone completely f##king mad? he has only played about half a dozen games & people are talking about a £10-15m move.. this is going to put so much pressure on his shoulders.

Yes Essex the world has gone mad… the player himself has even tried to distance himself from all the b@llocks being written but it carries on… Oxford is already a hell of a player, I really hope he gets many chances next season, I remember Rio plaing for our youth eam and watching him and I think Oxford is already way ahead of his level but with a similar drive to improve. Rio had hschances as yet Oxford hasn’t really and that is a concern, let honest if you are going to play Reid at right CB you may aswell play Oxford because Reid is woefully inept in that position far worse than Oxford was against Everton and every game not just for 45 minutes, please Slav if you won’t play Ginge or Tompkins there play Oxford and leave either Reid or Ogbonna to the left CB position.

If he does go to manure he won’t play much. Maureen going to have as much money as he wants. At chelski he signed every good youngster he could & sent them all out on loan, most have disappeared. The club & fans will demand results straight away next season & he will only play ready-made established players. Rashford got lucky when he started that 1st game, he wasn’t due to play until last minute. If he didn’t play that game would he be the star he is now 10 games later?? Maybe but not if Maureen was already there. Stay with us for his own good & develop into a world class player.

Moureen never gives youth a chance. If Reece’s advisers really have his best interests at heart they would advise him to stay. His Mum seems very down to earth and sensible, loves her son and only wants the best for him. I am convinced he will be much more involved next year and prove himself to be the extraordinary player that we’re all convinced he can be.Don’t be diverted by sudden wealth Reece you are still so young and over the course of your lengthy career you will earn absolute fortunes. Be patient and it will all fall into your lap. COYI X

The young talent we have within the club will save us £m’s over the next few years. We haven’t had a group of youngster with this much protential since (last time…. 😀 ) the ‘Too good to go down’ 2002/03 team.
