Hammers hand out another four goal thrashing

|

The Hammers under 23s handed out another battering – this time to  welcomed Newcastle U23s  at Rush Green Stadium yesterday afternoon in their final fixture on Monday afternoon for their final fixture of the calendar year.

That keeps them on top of the table going into a three-week winter break in their fixtures as their amazing frm showed no signs of easing off..

They handed out a 4-0 defeat to the Geordies with goals from Anthony Scully who headed in Bernardo Rosa’s cross  before Nathan Holland’s well-directed finish made it two.

Alfie Lewis rabbed the third and Holland the fourth ensured the Irons youngsters have now recorded 11 wins and two draws in their undefeated League programme.

And afterwards lead coach Dmitri Halajko revealed that while remaining on top of the League the lads are  relishing their title race with nearest challengers Manchester United a they go into the Chrstmas and New Year break.

He said: “I thought it was a real professional performance from us. We kept the ball well, moved it from side to side and went through the middle when we needed to.

“A clean sheet always makes everybody happy and scoring four goals is something to be really proud of, so it was near to a perfect performance for us really.

“It’s nice to be part of a winning team. It’s nice to be part of a team that’s challenging for things. They’re at an age now where they really, really want that, and it’s showing.”

“I think physically it’s probably a good point for a break because I think we’ve had boys who have worked really, really hard, and a couple of days’ rest will be great from them,” he noted.

“From that point of view it’s good, but momentum-wise it’s probably a bad time for a rest because we are in such good form – it’s a bit of good and a bit of bad.”

I ave watched highlights of the u23’s and the style of play they have with players always breaking from midfield makes you wonder why Halajko isn’t drafted in to assist with first team coaching.

He looks like a phenomenal coach, we all know PL2 is different but this is the style of play of Leicester that is sucessful in the PL so why don’t we try and replicate it so that our youth can transition more easilly into the first team.

And again Holland scores a double, but not considered for a permanent first team place. Yet off form Yarmo is. Pelligrini continues his stubborn ways. Look at the 23’s … their attitude, style, formations and play patterns. And the results … 4-0 wins. Worth considering this batch of coaches with some of their top players for promotion. Wow !!!!
