West Ham have no intentions of selling Issa Diop despite constant speculation the young Frenchman could be on his way.
With Fabian Balbuena having made it clear through his representatives that he is set to move on from the club there is no chance of 23 year old Issa being sold short of a major offer.
ClaretandHugh understands the club would be looking for a £40 million minimum offer to even think in those terms.
The club takes the view that he has youth very much on his side and having done little to suggest a move is required that he has been at the centre of unfair and ill-informed speculation.
Both Manchester United and Spurs – under Jose Mourinho anyway – have been linked with Issa but he continues to be seen as an important asset to the club.
However, Felipe Anderson, Manu Lanzini and Andrity Yarmolenko all remain very availalbel for the right money.
Disappointed with that news to be frank. Always looks a liability to me, and agree we should be able to get better.
i think we can do better than diop, he plays a bit like stones at man. c
when hes good hes very good, but its not consistant , and like stones hes always got a mistake in his game, therefore giving opposition teams chances.
for a good fee around 35-40million i would sell diop.
OK then who would you buy for 40 mil who is better than Diop???
Thanks Hugh – that is good news – I feel that Issa has a lot of potential – and as a number of other readers have suggested could in fact also deputise for Declan or Soucek in midfield as he is comfortable on the ball. Against Chelsea I noticed that he did get forward from the left of the back 3. I will be very happy if we keep him
