Hammers have one doubt for Watford clash

West Ham have one doubt beyond Winston Reid as they prepare for the match at Watford this afternoon (Sat).

Striker Chicharito reported with a sickness bug and his squad involvement will rely entirely on how he feels this morning.

Should he be ruled out, that could allow Swiss striker Albian Ajeti to make his second appearance on the bench after being an unused substitute at Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend.

However, we have been told this morning that the three players missing form last week’s squad – Sebastien Haller, Felipe Anderson and Mark Noble – are fit and ready for inclusion.

Noble’s involvement from the start looks doubtful given lack of match fitness and the alternative looks likely to be  Jack Wilshere continuing alongside Declan Rice from the start today.

With a full squad to select from only the possible holding back of Noble may prevent the manager from naming what he will see as his preferred first team and leaves him with a strong bench.

However, that leaves him under some pressure to bring home points with Watford short of three regular first teamers.

  1. Still going with the dodgy 4231 formation !?

  2. Terrible team selection again today. I have no idea what Pelle is thinking of. Watford’s strengths are in the midfield and out wide. Yet he plays Fredericks who cannot defend and brings Noble into midfield to face Dacoure and Capoue. In my opinion I cannot understand the selection of Yarmolenko as he is just another Wilshere imo. We are in big trouble today and he is still not seeing that this formation is not the formation that suits this team. The only plus from today is that Wilshere is out but for me Nobles is not much better. We are going to be outrun in midfield and cut open down the right flank. Incredible decisions from a so called top manager.

  3. I meant to say both flanks..

  4. Johnam1, who would you play next to Rice if Noble or Wilshire are not good enough, you are left with Sanchez, or Zaba out of position. Something tells me either option would cause moaning….

  5. Wrong again Johnham. I hate pessimists writing us off before a ball has even been kicked.
