Hammers head for four days in Malaga

|

The Hammers are off to Malaga for their warm weather camp.

Manuel Pellegrini – of course – has many connections with the area and with the temperature currently in the 20s the Irons squad will be warming up and training in decent temperatures.

However, the boss has made sure there will be no long stay holiday type jolly involved this year with the boys flying out tomorrow (Tues) and remaining on the Costa Del Sol until Friday.

It’s an opportunity to get some sun on aching bones after the recent run of games with a limited squad due to injuries.

One player who is particularly looking forward to it is Chicharito – having been linked with a move to the country during the transfer window.

Valencia were keen to take him on loan but that broke down and he has settled down again  to show some of his better form for the Irons following the closure of the window.

Talking to www.whufc.com he said: “We’ll go to Spain to train this week, to get the team better, to improve where we’re making mistakes, and then our aim is to get the three points against Fulham.

“The goal is to finish as high up as we can and hopefully we can get that European position. There are still some games to go and we need to add those three points.”

Hopefully the break will give them a chance to reset and push on until the end of the season, there is an excellent chance to finsih in the European places but we can’t afford any more slip ups.
