Hammers heartbreak

West Ham’s hearts were broken in the 93rd minute by Marcus Rashford as Manchester United stole a victory at Old Trafford.

United leapfrog the Irons into fourth place as a result, as they won the game in the very final second on Saturday.

The game was actually devoid of any sort of incident in the first half but the second saw the two clubs really go for it.

West Ham had a huge chance to win the game in the 86th minute, as Tomas Soucek met a corner, but his header went wide of the far post.

Jarrod Bowen also went close in the second half, firing a volley into the side netting, but it was a performance from the Hammers that was more grit than anything else, standing up to their opponents as they repeatedly repelled attacks.

At the end of the game, though, Cristiano Ronaldo fed Edinson Cavani, who sprinted down the channel on the left flank, and he cut the ball back for Rashford at the far post.

The England international simply tapped the ball in and gave United all three points.

It was a controversial decision, as replays appeared to suggest that Cavani might have been offside in the build-up, but VAR did not overturn the goal.

Heartbreaking.

  1. Typical VAR involving Man U … offside, no doubt on the replay

  2. Var complete joke. But having said that we concede too many late goals

  3. again as I’ve said before it’s conspicuous how VAR and officials combine for so called top teams
Man. Utd scor in the 93rd minute of 92 minutes of added time .
Offside out of time blind officials

  4. Moyes’s decision to bring on Fredericks is absolutely mind boggling and another decision that has cost us dearly – up there with the decision to bring Noble on to take the penalty. Moyes very poor like last week against Leeds. I do not want to see Fredericks in our team ever again how many more times does Moyes need to see him play to realise this, just beacuse he has pace doe snot mean he can defend. Clueless.

  5. Afraid Moyes didn’t do enough today. Had settled for the point long before kickoff

  6. funny when we score they draw lines to disallow it bur the big 6 always get the decisions & it looked well offside please Mr Moyes sign players or leave as you are a yes man

  7. VAR terrible they should somehow be told how bad that decision is . Always goes for the bog teams if that was the other way VAR call it , corrupt !
