West Ham are today reported as having the tenth most expensively-assembled squad in world football.
There has been much criticism of the club’s failure to spend big across the forums but that is not borne out in a survey from football-observatory.com.
They claim the club is now valued at around £435.5million which puts us eighth in the Premier League. Only Paris St Germain (4th) and Real Madrid (8th) from outside of the domestic game are in the top ten!
According the kumb.com reporting the survey only newly-promoted Luton Town fail to make the list as far as Premier League clubs are concerned.
Even relegated Leicester City, Southampton and Leeds United – remain in the top 35 of global squad investment, placing 26th, 34th and 35th respectively.
The top ten most expensively assembled squads, according to football-observatory.com are as follows:
1. Manchester United (£992m)
2. Chelsea (£978m)
3. Manchester City (£899m)
4. Paris St Germain (£862m)
5. Arsenal (£721m)
6. Tottenham (£715m)
7. Liverpool (£664m)
8. Real Madrid (£611m)
9. Newcastle United (£570m)
10. West Ham United (£436m)
