Hammers hold Liverpool

West Ham’s U23 held Liverpool U23’s in a 1-1 draw in Premier League 2.

The Hammers remain rooted to the bottom of the table in twelfth place and look odd-on for relegation back to division two of the PL Academy league.

Hammer Kai Corbett’s deflected in off  Liverpool defender Morgan Boyes gave the Hammers the lead at the Academy after 14 minutes of play.

But Conor Bradley got Barry Lewtas’ side back on level terms with a nice finish towards the end of the first half as the sides ended up sharing the points.

Nathan Trott, Fredericks Alves, Conor Coventry and Mipo Odubeko were all missing from the U23 squad missing they could be included in tomorrow’s matchday squad at Old Trafford at Manchester.

Liverpool broadcast the game live on Liverpool TV but seemed to be in the dark that West Ham changed their crest five years ago in 2016 instead of using the old pre-2016 Boleyn castle badge on their official website.

The Hammers have just nine points from 16 games this season with a goal difference of -20.  They have won just two games under manager Dmitri Halajko
