Hammers hope for new financial boost

West Ham will collect another £600,000 should they beat Olymopiacos in their third Europa League group match in Greece tomorrow night.

The two wins so far has taken their earnings from the competition for around £1.2 million plus close to £4 million for qualifying in the first place.

Teams can earn close to £20 million  if they manage to triumph in all their group games on their way to winning the whole competition. Those who drop down from the Champions League can also earn a good amount in the knockout stages.

That is all on top of gate receipts received as we progress through the competition with the hammers aiming to stretch their record to 18 unbeaten matches in the game in Greece.

As we reported earlier the Hammers fans will receive a police escort to the game following a player being hit ny a firecracker in the warm up game against Panathinaikos at the weekend.
