Hammers hotshot can save West Ham a fortune

|

Even his most devoted supporters would agree that Gianluca Scamacca has had a really difficult debut campaign with West Ham, since moving to East London from Sassuolo for around £30 million in the summer of 2022 .

We can blame some of his lack of prowess on his inability to recover from knocks, perhaps being played out of position and the latest one being – home sickness!

So, it has come as no surprise that he is being heavily tipped to move on at the end of this campaign.

Normally, the cheque books would then come out as we look for yet another big money signing

The 18-year-old striker has been in truly exceptional form for the Hammers’ youth teams this season.

Mubama has scored 29 goals in 29 games for West Ham under-18s and under-21s so far this season! I know that it is not the Premier League, but still an astounding return for the young striker.

He has pace, power and finishing ability in abundance and next season could well be the time for Mubama to make a real breakthrough with the senior team.

The big worry is that, like many other Academy youngsters , Mubama will look at his current situation and what with Michail Antonio, Danny Ings and Scamacca further up the pecking order , he may believe that a move away from the London Stadium will provide him with the best chance of regular first-team football.

Letting the unhappy Italian go, and promoting the London-born youngster would also be possibly be another first for West Ham – a financially sensible decision !

I think he should play in Saturday, full of confidence and scores regularly. I doubt Antonio will start and he offers more than Ings.
Support him with the way the U18’s play.
Pace with Cornet and Bowen either side.
A midfield of Fornals, Rice and Downes.
