West Ham are this morning denying any knowledge of interest from Southampton in Mauro Zarate.
After newspaper reports suggested that Saints manager Ronald Koeman would be interested in a January loan move, Irons sources said: “It’s news to us but not impossible.”
However, with striker Diafra Sakho likely to be away with Senegal at the African Nations Cup, Zarate is likely to be needed and any move, were it to happen, is likely to go right down to deadline day.
Koeman likes highly skilled ball playing players and thus it’s a story that carries some credibility but our source said: “It would be complicated given all the circumstances.
“At this stage we know no more than anyone else and we will make a decision if and when the occasion demands it which isn’t at this moment.”
The Hammers have a private valuation of £5-£7 million on the player for transfer purposes.
Who started this rumour? Two weeks ago he was leaving because his agent ( which according to Zarate he does not have ) said he wanted more playing time,he then was given a team place against WBA and did not take his chance ,which if he put his self about like Nolan has had to do or put 100% in like Sakho does every time he hits the pitch he would be in the starting 11, A lfimanto does not hit the papers every time he does not get picked ( he let his seif down in the same game ), if Southampton want him so much on Jan 1 st put your money on the table then we will see if if he really wants away?
Probably a leak at Saints end bubs
