West Ham have been named in the race to sign Darwin Nunez from Benfica.
The young striker has been courted by a number of clubs, according to Record, with the likes of Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Newcastle all said to hold an interest.
Now the Hammers have also been linked with a bid ahead of the January transfer window as boss David Moyes continues his hunt for a new striker.
Nunez has a huge release clause that stands at £127.5m, a figure that would put him beyond the reach of most clubs in world football.
Benfica are only said to be interested in selling him for that sum in January, although it may reduce in the summer.
The 22-year-old has been in excellent form for the club thus far this season and has scored 11 goals in 16 games in all competitions.
His contract with Benfica runs until 2025, meaning the Portuguese club have a degree of security when it comes to his future.
