West Ham have bid  €30 million (£27.1m) for Sporting Lisbon midfelder William Carvalho.

The club has confirmed national reports to ClaretandHugh within the last few minutes declaring that club representatives  are indeed in Lisbon at this moment trying to close the deal.

Lisbon want 40 million euros(£36.1m) but the Hammers won’t go that high but the Portuguese club are aware the 25 year old is keen to advance his career in the Premier League at the Olympic Stadium.

After signing Marko Arnautovic, for a club record fee that could rise to £24m, Javier Hernandez, Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart, to land Carvalho would be a massive achievement for the Irons as they prepare for the Sunday match at Old Trafford.

Talks between the two clubs are positive and our sources are optimistic the deal will be done for one of Europe’s highest rated midfielders.

The signing would be a massive coup for the Hammers who has been linked to a number of big Premier League clubs in recent seasons, including Arsenal.

Our source said: “The story is correct – we are negotiating and hoping to get the deal done.”

  1. A proper DCM and I we saw against Man City and others and last seasonnwe turnover way to Much in midfield. Carvalho would be a game change for us. Big physical player and can even score too. At 25 is keen on a move to further his career and he would go in over Noble. He can also cover CB if needed. But will protect the back and offer another threat in set pieces and Defending In our Box.
Apparently been working on for a week so the Sead buy seems lil more strange now tho only 18 good loan move if needed.
Would love this signing and would make a huge difference for us in moving towards Europa.
And Jota looks likely tho Feghouli’s move has been held up again. Say paperwork everything his agreed I believe it is the Sign on Board doesn’t want to pay and neither does Galatasary.
But if goes and Snod Jota will be good cover. And help create.
    CARAVLHO I HOPE SO!!!!
“No more big name spending, that bring excitement” they said….. Well this is bloody exciting him and Chic would be best signing and most neeeded

  2. I never believed the no more exciting signings stuff from Bilic. He was just keeping a lid on expectations so no one got it in the neck if he said yeah we will sign other big names & never did.
Someone has to keep the drama queens under control 😁
But yeah if we pulled this off it would be a brilliant signing.

  3. If it happens the club would save 4,000 a year on electricity charging that 2nd hand mobility scooter 😂 as well as the pitch repair costs 😂😂😉

  4. Am more concerned about the Lanzini injury at the moment as there is no one else in the squad who can provide the imagination and link up play to get up and score goals??
Carvalho would be a very good addition though.

  5. Lanzini and Antonio out till Southampton. This Lanzini’s new reported £85k deal he will stay and hopefully become more consistent w other class players around.
But yes Man U match is a worry don’t think Chic will start either and I think Adrian should be in btwn sticks Hart hasn’t done enough for #1 for me yet.
And a back 3 for me…. Rice Reid Ogbonna be my choice. With maybe Rice in middle bc he does well there and in mid.
But Marko will have to proof his worth and RW is not Ayews best position.

  6. Would be a great bit and stop us being so easy to pass through. I love slav’s style but it often leaves us open to the quick counters and a proper cdm like this would allow cheikou to be more box to box and form a great base for the creativity further forward , with sak hopefully fit drawing defenders away we have the runners and the passers to take advantage and now in the little pea we (everything crossed) have someone to put them away. I think it would be a landmark purchase for the club, a key jigsaw piece and a massive sign of intent.

  7. Dont shoot me chaps but i will be staggered if we can pull this off.Surely there will be bigger clubs who will move in like vultures if it looks like he does want to come to the Premier.
I dont think im being negative only realistic but if we did sign him it would be fabulous.

  8. Agreed – a massive long shot and looks like we tried to sneak away and get it done without anyone knowing (which is a great change from last year ) but never going to happen without alerting agents etc so sadly he will probably sign for Chelski

  9. I disagree. I think the only reason he won’t come is because we can’t agree the fee. Sporting want 40 mil and we are offering 30 mil. Lets just sit back and see?
