The Hammers are being linked with a swoop for Celta Vigo striker Santi Mina.
You’ll probably remember the summer in which Manuel Pellegrini’s right-hand man Mario Husillos spent the majority of the summer trying to bring him in from Celta Vigo.
That didn’t happen and he ended up moving to Valencia instead, with Mina going the other way.
Mina has been okay since his move, scoring six goals in 34 games last season and netting 12 goals in 33 outings this term.
Sport Witness now carries a report from Fichajes in Spain claiming that Vigo are aware that there is interest in the 25-year-old from across Europe.
Along with the Hammers, Monaco in France and Lazio in Italy are said to be monitoring Mina’s situation ahead of a possible bid in the summer.
They are said to have made it clear that they would be willing to part with him for a fee of around €15m which equates to £12.8m.
That’s an affordable figure, provided that there isn’t too much competition in something of a bidding war.
