Jesse Lingard has received support from a West Ham media man who believes he has received unnecessary abuse from fans of the club.
Rob Pritchard is the guy who regularly interviews players from the club on line for the official site at www.whufc.com per Hammers News.
And he has raised objections to the comments made on social media towards the free agent now training in Saudi Arabia after a spell at Rush Green.
In a surprise announcement on his feelings Pritchard has taken to task those who have attacked the decision who spokle out out.
It’s a surprise inasmuch as club media content people are usually only responsible for exactly that rather than pass an opinion on how they feel about the reaction of fans.
However, it may be forgivable given that as he points out Lingard has discussed his mental health problems of the past.
He explained: “I am uncomfortable with the online vitriol towards Jesse Lingard,” Pritchard said speaking himself on social media.
“OK, he took a career decision some people didn’t agree with, and it didn’t work out, but he had a short and superb spell in West Ham colours, was popular at the club and has never (to my knowledge), been negative.
“Yes, footballers earn good money, but they are not immune to the criticism they receive. Personally, I wish Jesse the best.”
