Hammers interest in Spurs player is premature

|

Suggestions that West Ham are interested in signing Eric Dier from Spurs are premature.

The 26-year-old Dier is under contract at Spurs until June 2021 but the Daily Star claims “West Ham are monitoring Eric Dier’s contract situation at Tottenham.”

The assumption is that the Hammers could make a move to sign Dier this summer if Spurs decide he is surplus to requirements.

The versatile player can play as a defensive midfielder, a centre back or a right back.

However, West Ham have yet to set a proper target list as they have no idea what league or financial position they be in added to the fact that no-one knows when the transfer window may actually open.

The report is speculative at every best or made up at worse. West Ham are far more interested in knowing whether the season will re-start or not and certainly over their Premier League status than show any serious interest in Dier or any player in reality.

Dyer just does not fit the Moyes profile.
He is neither young or pacey.
As for the different positions he can play, he plays none of them well. He is in decline in any case Levi will demand way more than his true worth.
I hope we do not touch him and I agree Sean this is probably a made-up story by the press (who don’t have much to write about atm.
