Hammers issue a Payet update

|

payetarmsoutWest Ham have not received a single inquiry or offer for their superstar midfielder Dimi Payet.

Not a day passes – seemingly – without the star of Euro 2016 being linked to any one of a number of top clubs with Real Madrid being linked to a £40 million bid a few days ago.

However, ClaretandHugh was told exclusively this evening: “We understand it’s early days and that the window still hasn’t opened but for all the speculation there has been no inquiry and certainly no offer.

“We have absolutely no desire to let him go anywhere and the bottom line remains as it always has been – Dimi Payet has a five year contract at this club.”

The Hammers have made it clear privately that any offer will need to be around £60 million for it to be considered and they continue to believe that at his age of 29 that’s unlikely to happen given there is no sell on value.

But our source said: “It is right to give another assurance because we know the fans are naturally anxious – there have been no offers, no inquiries and we remain confident he will be playing hs football at West next season and beyond.”

Maybe it’s just me but I’d kind of like Payet to issue a Payet update!

He has said all a long he is happy where he is and we have allowed him to express himself and become a great international player,
Only greed on his agents behalf or a Frenchman talking in his ear could change that,
Under our banner he has become a Legend in 1 season ( not my words ) at Real he would become an also ran with Bale,Ronaldo,Modric, and many more already in place and seen as gifted,
He has 3-5 more years left,if he stays he will become one of the greats that played in the Premier and you can only spend so much money unless you are a mug

£60 million isn’t nearly enough, he is priceless to us, the moment any clubs sells it best player purely for profit shows that they lack ambition and are happy being a selling club.

agreed. let bale’s former club act as feeders for franco’s bunch. west ham are no longer selling.

Look guys, the latest rumour on the England manager front is BFS, so why keep reacting to these pointless rumours.
Of course this was bound to happen over Payet once he showed his form last season was no fluke.
We should look on this as a positive. How often have we had a player so good everyone would love to have him but for 60million? That is a whole different story.
I see the latest on this reluctant target of ours Michel Bathsua (not correct spelling I admit)
Is we were looking at the wrong rival if the Guardian is to believed. If true what we’re all the rumours about him worth

Maybe C Palace will buy him ??
