Nothing must ruin Thursday night and the club is doing its best to ensure that is the case.

It introduced a ticket selling operation which was aimed at giving every fan as possible a shot at being inside the stadium and ensuring the Frankfurt fans didn’t get into the home end.

On top of that it made sure the police brought in more bodies to guard against anything wrecking what is going to be a night to remember.

Now it’s up to us fans to be on our very best behaviour to ensure that the biggest game in our recent history goes off without any trouble as far as we can.

Frankfurt played Real Betis in the Spanish city a night before West Ham lost 1-0 to Sevilla. After the Frankfurt game, a number of German fans targeted West Ham supporters in a bar, with bottles thrown before police intervened and fired rubber bullets.

There have been other incidents at West Ham’s European games this season. Two fans made their way onto the pitch during the home leg of the quarter-final against Lyon, while both West Ham and Rapid Vienna were fined when fans clashed in the group stage.

Now the Hammers have issues a warning to us on the website which says:

Regardless of age, race, disability, religion, gender or sexual orientation, every supporter within our diverse fanbase should be free to enjoy watching their team play football without fear, discrimination or abuse.
