Hammers issue Payet assurances

|

dimitri-payet (1)West Ham’s new ‘superstar’ Dimitri Payet is attracting the sort of publicity that Hammers fans fear will bring him all too quickly to the attention of top Premier League clubs.

But ClaretandHugh can reveal that the Irons have the Frenchman locked into a ‘no release clause’ deal until 2020 and that the club has an option in their favour for a further 12 months at the end of that.

Both Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher drew great attention to the player’s contribution to the Newcastle game following his two goal man of the match during last night’s Sky coverage of the game.

And that will have raised fears – as already demonstrated on the ClaretandHugh forums – that the player could be eyed up by the big boys as the hype machine is cranked up.

However, we were categorically assured this morning by a top Upon Park source that there are “absolutely no release clauses in Payet’s deal.”

And were there to be it’s unlikely that a club would be anywhere near ready to pay the sort of fee that would have any chance of getting him.

At 28 years of age he could not command the kind of fee that would be of the slightest interest to the Irons and that was confirmed by David Sullivan in a ClaretandHugh exclusive quote earlier today when claiming he would be worth £40 million were he 21.

At this moment – given the way he is affecting the team – he is worth all of that to the Irons.

We were told: “We negotiated very hard with Marseilles on the price and with the player and his agent. He is locked down to us – there are no release clauses.”

Yes! He’s good! But don’t forget the other players that helped him?? No names mentioned?? All outstanding..

Now we need Center half of the season and Right back of the season
Sign Lanzini and Moses full time,
    That will do for me,

  • slaven a laugh says:

He was in the French team of the season. No brainer if you’d seen him play for Marseilles last season. When we bought cresswell he was championship team of the season the year before. Same with Antonio. Team of the season. When we bought sakho he was French league two player of the season and leading goal scorer two years running. It’s a great policy buying hungry players at the top of their game and it’s starting to pay dividends.

He did not want to move from his old club and only the lure of European football will take him away from us,so a top 4 finish would keep him safe,
I think we can do that,
Who apart from City at the moment are better than us ?
We may need to bring in 2 more defenders as that is our weak area now with players not being able to play the ball out from the back,
Let’s make Payet one of us and with London being the best place in England to live there is no reason for him to leave
    Long live King Payet

London is the 6th biggest French city in terms of population – he should feel right at home.

I still think it’s a work in progress, defensively we are so much more compact and attacking wise, plenty of options.
Payet is truly a WORLD CLASS No. 10!!!!!
However, looking at the passes and possession, you can say in a way Slav’s team won the game by using the possession effectively, that means you don’t get and play the ball around for doing nothing (like Newcastle did with their 60% possession).
You can definitely see that the OLD Big Sam way army has some difficulty in passing the ball from the back to the front when we are not COUNTER attacking (I mean the slower build up, not the lightening quick counter played by Payet, Moses and Lanzini) Especially for Reid, you can see he doesn’t really know the way to play his pass other than back to GK or a long ball forward.
We already achieved a lot since the dismal 2nd half of out last season. I am looking forward to a better passing, flair inspired “West Ham Way” to stun the EPL in a not too distant future.

Be careful what you wish for!!!
    Are you watching Allardyce?

If we can keep Payet for many years to come, who knows what West Ham can achieve in next couple of years.

Slav knows a player when he sees one.Didnt realise till i watched the game again on tv this morning he said he tried signing him for Besiktas.Love watching him & there is a real buzz round the ground when he gets the ball or does something clever.Aint seemed to have had a player like that for so long.Maybe our Italian mate Matte has finally got over his love affair with Ravel now & moved on to Payet.Hello Matte if youre out there, hope the figa is good 😉

  • Dainon says:

So this contract takes him till he’s 34 … the age when a player of his quality used to sign for us. I wouldn’t sell him for 40m or 50m, only Real or Barca could spend enough to make me sell him.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

He is not exactly like anyone I have seen play for us he is “Dmitri” he absolutely ran himself into the ground yesterday, you could see him catching his breath towards the end of the game before digging deep and setting off for another run. He is what we have been missing and better so far than any of the playmakers I can ever remember us having. Gary Neville likened him to Tevez, who physically he is not dissimilar too and certainly both of them are high energy players that lift their team mates. For me though he is not like Tevez who was very direct in the lines that he chose and was mostly running in to positions beyond defences and/or to receive passes, whereas Dmitri runs curved and mazy lines often in between midfield and defence pulling opposing players out of positions instead of turning them around a la Tevez, his dribbles and style are much more similar if anything to the way Hazard plays except more curvy more pronounced and uniquely “Dmitri” if he keeps this up huge money will come in for him because he is one of those irreplacable players and at his age a top team might get 4 years out of him. Lets hope that no one turns his head and he sees out his contract or extends 🙂

Stick a ridiculous price tag on Payet. There is no rlease clause ? Good. Then clubs looking to spend below 50 million needn’t pick up the phone. It’s time we start to build a team and not lose the backbone of our squad at the first opportunity.
Remember this game us fans sometimes play, imagining what our team could have achieved if we had been able to keep Rio Ferdinand, Lampard, Carrick, Joe Cole, Defoe and Tevez ?
Our OS move and the improved income may be just as much about the players we can keep at the club as a result of our move than about signing new players.

  • petebonds says:

He has better feet and ball control than either Devonshire or Brooking ever had and that’s saying a lot as i really rated those players ! Nearest comparison for me is Di Canio on his good days (as long as he didn’t have to travel too far !) Good time to be a hammer fan though . Well done boys keep it up COYI

  • sleepswithdafishes says:

LOL perhaps Man U should have signed him as replacement for DiMaria ( 50 mil misfit )

  • Sams P45 says:

He is pure quality.Must be a few of the bigger teams thinking they missed a trick here. They were all too busy looking at 30-40m players & missed out on a humble 10m player who is an equal to many of the similiar players the big cheeses signed. He is too good for a relegation threatened team like Chelski anyway 😀

  • sleepswithdafishes says:

This geezer brings back great memories of Brooking and Devonshire. What a pleasure to watch. It’s rare to see such a great individual player who is also a fantastic team player. Just like Brooking and Dev. Money can’t buy him
