Hammers keeper hunt on the cards

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is likely to be hunting a new goalkeeper between now and January as Adrian’s contract runs down possibly with the Spaniard still No 2 at the club.

The 31 year old’s current deal runs out in July next year and the likelihood is the club will be looking for a fee rather than allowing him to leave on a free transfer.

And that means in turn that Manuel Pellegrini will need to identify his successor as it seems impossible that Adrian will want to continue in his present position.

Having been Number 2 for much of the past two years – first to Darren Randolph and then Joe Hart – he is almost certain to be looking for a new club next season.

He will have been disappointed after playing a good number of pre-season games that he was overlooked for the seasonal opener against Liverpool.

And even were he find himself surprisingly included in the first team he will not want another fight for the sweater to stretch into next season by signing a new Hammers deal.

  1. Fabianski made two very good saves today but I am still not convinced by him, his feet are too slow, he jumps around which makes it easy for any top scorer to time their shots to give them a greater chance of scoring.
