Liverpool 3 West Ham 1

The Hammers were again beaten 3-1 by a top side and on the balance of play that was about right at Anfield this afternoon.

The Irons had come from behind to equalise a Salah penalty late in the first half through a fine  Jarrod Bowen header buut the Reds took over in the second half.

They dominated a seemingly tired Hammers team and grabbed their second through a very fine Nunez clip past Areola from a beautifully chipped ball forward from McAllister. And close to the end Jota slid home the third from a Van Dyke assist

Bowen scored a fine header for Hammers equaliser

The Hammers had made a very bright start but missed two glorious chances when Soucek saw a fine effort  saved at the bottom left hand corner and Antonio made a mess following a fine ball into his path from the Czech midfielder.

But we fell behind when Aguerd brought down Salah in the 16th minute and the Egyptian picked himself up to score from the spot.

Liverpool bossed things for a while after that and Salah was just wide with another effort before Bowen scored another superb goal, bending low to head home at the left hand corner of the net for his fourth away goal of the season.

Liverpool thought they had taken the lead right on half time before VAR ruled out a Kines close range effort  for offside.
