Hammers knock Reading for five

West Ham Women took a huge leap in the fight to avoid relegation from the Women’s Super League with a five-nil away win over Reading Women this afternoon.

The Hammers opened the scoring within seven minutes through Kenza Dali with a  second coming three minutes later from Katerina Svitovia to make it two-nil.

One minute later it was 3-0 within 11 minutes with further goals on 29 and 37 minutes from Marta Thomas to make it 5-0 before half time earning her a hat trick.

It remained that scoreline throughout the second half for the West Ham Women to earn three massive points move off of the bottom of the Womens’ Super LEague table into tenth place.

Aston Villa women now occupy the relegation spot in twelfth place with Bristol City managed by former West Ham manager Matt Beard in 11th spot.

The West Ham women have just four fixtures remaining in which they must play last-placed Aston Villa twice so survival is very much in their own hands.

  1. Funny to think we could be playing champions league football next season thanks to bfs. Wouldn’t put it past him to avoid relegation by some miracle either.

  2. Nothing to do with DM of course.
